Job Title: Desktop Computing Consultant (Endpoint Migration) Location: Onsite New York City Job Type: Contract ( 5 days/week) Overview
We are seeking experienced Desktop Computing Consultants to support a large-scale endpoint migration initiative. The project involves transitioning approximately 350 devices-including desktops, laptops, and mobile phones-from legacy management systems to modern endpoint management platforms such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and VMware Workspace ONE.
Key Responsibilities Pre-Migration Activities- Learn and validate defined migration processes and procedures
- Test and fine-tune SCCM imaging and desktop replacement workflows
- Evaluate and refine MDM migration processes for laptops and mobile devices
- Validate pre- and post-migration checklists
- Participate in pilot migrations and adjust processes based on findings
- Perform desktop and laptop imaging and deployment using SCCM
- Un-enroll and re-enroll laptops into the new MDM platform (Workspace ONE)
- Conduct mobile device migrations, including:
- Backup of iPhones using iTunes
- Device un-enrollment and re-enrollment into new MDM
- Data restoration ensuring no loss of user data
- Provide onsite support to end users during device transitions
- Ensure successful validation of migrated devices
- Work closely with the Project Manager to support communication, scope, and schedule
- Follow direction from Service Desk staff for daily migration activities
- Escalate technical or operational issues to Infrastructure and Service Delivery leadership
- Maintain accurate documentation of migration progress and issues
- Proven experience with endpoint migration and deployment projects
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
- Experience with enterprise mobility management tools, preferably VMware Workspace ONE
- Knowledge of mobile device management (MDM) for iOS devices
- Experience performing device backup and restoration using iTunes
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow structured processes and documentation
- Excellent communication and user support skills
- Experience with large-scale device rollouts (300 endpoints)
- Familiarity with IT service management processes
- Experience working in fast-paced, structured IT environments
- Fully onsite role in New York City
