The Vice President of Manufacturing provides strategic and operational leadership across the company's manufacturing footprint. This role is responsible for driving performance in production, quality, continuous improvement, and equipment maintenance—ensuring that operations align with business goals and deliver exceptional results in safety, cost, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a core member of the Senior Leadership Team, shaping short- and long-term strategies that support growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Lead the execution of a comprehensive manufacturing strategy that transforms raw materials into finished goods efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.
- Oversee daily operations across all manufacturing sites, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Drive alignment across production, quality, engineering, and maintenance to meet S&OP targets and customer expectations.
- Lead operational budgeting, forecasting, and cost control efforts; monitor KPIs and take corrective action as needed.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles to enhance throughput, quality, and service levels.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support new product introductions and ensure manufacturability.
- Build and manage a high-performing team, including plant managers and manufacturing support leaders.
- Develop workforce plans to ensure adequate labor, equipment, and space capacity.
- Establish clear performance metrics and accountability systems across all levels of manufacturing.
- Act as a key escalation point for critical manufacturing issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and operational discipline.
Leadership & Team Development
- Directly supervise plant managers and functional manufacturing leaders.
- Indirectly oversee all manufacturing personnel across multiple shifts and facilities.
- Lead talent acquisition, development, performance management, and succession planning within the manufacturing organization.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field required; Master’s degree (MBA or technical discipline) preferred.
- 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in a high-volume, multi-site environment.
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence, cost reduction, and cultural transformation.
- Deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing, process optimization, and change management.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing large-scale budgets and capital projects.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically and lead through ambiguity.
