IT Application Developer / Analyst (Manufacturing Systems)
Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
Contract: 6-month contract (with potential to extend)
Overview
We are partnering with a large, established manufacturing organization to hire an IT Application Developer/Analyst to support and enhance critical applications used across multiple production sites.
This role sits at the intersection of software development, business analysis, and production support, with a strong focus on system reliability, performance, and modernization. You’ll work closely with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure manufacturing systems run efficiently and evolve toward modern architectures.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support and enhance applications used in manufacturing and operational environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues impacting uptime and performance
- Analyze business and manufacturing processes and translate them into effective technical solutions
- Gather requirements and help define functional and technical specifications
- Design, develop, test, and implement custom applications and enhancements
- Partner with architects, developers, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable solutions
- Contribute to efforts to modernize legacy applications and systems
- Create documentation, training materials, and knowledge base content
- Participate in ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management)
- Support disaster recovery planning and testing
- Provide occasional after-hours/on-call support as needed
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of experience in application development, systems analysis, or a hybrid role
- Strong SQL Server experience (queries, stored procedures, data analysis)
- Hands-on experience developing applications (full stack or backend preferred)
- Ability to work directly with business users to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Experience supporting production systems (troubleshooting, uptime, reliability)
- Strong communication skills—ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, or operations-driven environments
- .NET / C# / ASP.NET development experience
- Front-end experience (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
- Experience with legacy desktop technologies (e.g., WPF)
- Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or similar)
- Familiarity with SAP (ECC, S/4, Fiori/UI5)
- Reporting tools (Power BI, SSRS, SSAS)
- Automation tools (Chef, Puppet, etc.)
