Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Scientific Technician II with a multinational science and technology company in Coralville, IA. This is an 8-month contract with a potential for extension.
Pay: $25.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

- Attention to detail. We work in a fast paced environment that ultimately doesn't have a back end QC check so we need to ensure accuracy from the get go.
- Flexibility in task work flow. We have several different process that we do. We try to rotate through them, but at times people can stay in one part of the lab for several days or weeks dependent on where we are with training and order volume
- Manufacturing mindset. We are a biotechnology based company but have tight deadlines to meet to hit our customer demands, so having someone that is ok with production work will be a must.
Job Specific Essential Functions:
- Synthesizes oligos on various synthesizer platforms
- Cleaves and deprotects oligos utilizing appropriate methods
- Quantifies and samples oligos for quality control tests
- Attaches modifications utilizing various techniques
- Adheres to safety regulations, lab SOPs, and contamination controls
- Uses lab equipment including limited maintenance and troubleshooting activities
- Uses custom software packages to complete tasks and create final product
- Assesses QC data accurately and makes pass/fail decisions for oligos
- Handles expensive oligos and reagents
- Keeps thorough records of specialized processes in the oligo process history
- Follows documented custom instructions, when applicable
- Demonstrates behavior consistent with the IDT's Core Values
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Prepares oligos for final shipment to customer or for further processing in other departments
- Uses aids and SOPs to make production path decisions
- Additional essential functions may differ by department/group
- High School diploma or GED
- Proficiency with computer skills with the ability to accurately use SOPs and work instructions
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload to efficiently accomplish departmental goals
- Ability to manage time and works independently
- Ability to communicate with peers and all levels of management
- Uses aids and SOPs to make decisions about the proper production path per product
