Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a Regulatory Project Coordinator to join an energy and utilities company in New Orleans, LA. This is a 6-month contract to start with the potential for extensions.
Pay: $58.00 - $63.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

Description:
- Has responsibility for obtaining, coordinating, analyzing, organizing and interpreting financial data in support of regulatory and/or legal proceedings within
- the assigned jurisdiction. Responsible for drafting and/or shepherding responses to requests for information (s) (RFIs) in a timely manner, as well as
- development of comprehensive regulatory filings. Provides professional analytical and project management support primarily to the jurisdictional
- Regulatory Affairs organization, and to other business functions, as needed.
- Supports the Regulatory Filings organization to ensure needs and objectives of internal client(s) (i.e., Operating Companies, System Energy and corporate) are met by supporting regulatory filings and analysis on timely, accurate and professional basis, as requested.
- Responsible for producing complete, timely and accurate data, schedules and/or witness support for regulatory filings and ensuring that key issues/decisions are escalated to appropriate decision-maker(s) (e.g., Filings, Operating Company management, legal and/or others) in a timely manner.
- Provides superior customer service to internal clients by being proactive and offering expert regulatory support on all regulatory filings.
- Serves as project manager for regulatory filings in assigned jurisdiction. Project management entails assisting Manager, Regulatory Filings in providing oversight of regulatory filings from beginning through the litigation process (including processing RFIs, compliance filings, if required by final order) post-filing review, completion of documentation and the establishment and maintenance of an adequate controls over regulatory filings.
- Coordinator establishes and manages project schedules to ensure all pertinent deadlines are met on a timely basis by leveraging Operating
- Company and System resources.
- Provides expert written and/or oral testimony and supports discovery by responding to or assigning RFI(s) as required for regulatory filings.
- Assists Manager, Regulatory Filings in proactive communication to Utility Strategy and Regulatory Initiatives leadership, Operating Company management, and others, regarding development of filing plan, confirmation of objectives, documentation of key assumptions, escalation of issues, and project deliverables with timelines.
- Activities may require travel (<25%) to Operating Company headquarters to meet with regulatory affairs and/or regulatory legal counsel team members.
- Assists in facilitating documentation and maintenance of all the regulatory filings processes to ensure consistency, high quality work product and compliance with filing requirements, as well as identification of opportunities of process enhancements.
- Assist in the training and development of staff, ensuring staff is cross-trained and developed in overall concepts/processes for rate cases*** formula rates and other regulatory recovery mechanisms.
- Supports Analysts and Staff to develop an understanding of the technical aspects of their assignment, but also how that assignment fits into the overall strategy.
- Assists with identifying, developing, and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
Minimum education required of the position
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum experience required of the position
- 5 years experience in electric utility industry.
- Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
- Demonstrated effective leadership and judgment skills with ability to work under stressful situations and with multiple contemporaneous deadlines.
- Planning and organizing skills; Problem-solving and Strategic thinking, flexibility; and Communicating effectively.
- Experience required: Senior
- Project manager skills are critical
- Accounting Background Auditor and regulatory skills a must
- Needs to be in office full-time until fully trained possibly a month
- Will have to pay for parking
