Project Development Analyst – Solar & Energy Storage

Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Project Development Analyst for our client. This opportunity is with a large organization operating across multiple markets and focused on expanding its portfolio of solar and energy storage projects for major commercial, institutional, and government customers. The Project Development Analyst supports early-stage development through contract execution by analyzing technical feasibility, financial viability, and policy frameworks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams spanning development, engineering, and finance.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate solar and energy storage project feasibility based on site conditions, customer requirements, and utility data.
• Develop system designs using Helioscope, Aurora, PVsyst, PVSim, and Energy Toolbase.
• Build and maintain financial models supporting pricing structures, including PPA, lease, and cash sale offerings.
• Conduct data analysis to optimize project performance, cost structure, and customer value propositions.
• Research incentives, tax structures, permitting requirements, and regulatory policies across multiple markets.
• Support creative deal structuring and value engineering to improve project economics.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to advance proposals through contracting and execution phases.
• Assist in market expansion efforts through business development research and opportunity identification.
• Maintain organized tracking of active opportunities and shifting project priorities.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives, templates, and commercial workflow enhancements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or related field with strong academic performance.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, data analysis, and scenario modeling.
• Experience with solar design and simulation software such as Helioscope, Aurora, or PVsyst.
• Strong understanding of financial structures, including PPAs, leases, and project cash flow modeling.
• Knowledge of renewable energy policy, incentives, and interconnection processes.
• Experience analyzing large datasets and utility-scale energy project metrics.
• Familiarity with commercial solar and/or energy storage project development workflows.
• Ability to interpret technical, financial, and regulatory documentation.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for project and stakeholder engagement.
