Help safeguard the land assets that support major exploration and production operations. This opportunity offers meaningful ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and exposure to both onshore and offshore assets while supporting critical business initiatives across the upstream organization.


A global energy organization is seeking an experienced Land Administration Specialist to support the administration, reporting, and protection of its upstream land portfolio. The Land Administration Specialist will work closely with Land, Legal, Finance, Operations, Business Development, Subsurface, and joint-venture partners to ensure that leasehold interests, ownership records, and contractual obligations are accurately maintained throughout the asset lifecycle.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain land records, lease inventories, ownership data, and contractual obligations for assigned assets.
  • Monitor lease expirations, rental payments, drilling commitments, continuous development provisions, and other lease maintenance requirements to preserve company land rights.
  • Prepare and manage rental, renewal, and expiration schedules while coordinating recommendations with Land and Asset teams.
  • Review and maintain oil and gas leases, title documents, title opinions, division orders, joint operating agreements, and related land documentation.
  • Determine and maintain ownership, working interest, and revenue interest information supporting drilling and development activities.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Treasury to facilitate billing reconciliations, partner invoicing, and timely payments.
  • Generate land reports and analyses for management, operations, business development, and joint venture partners.
  • Support acquisitions, divestitures, due diligence projects, lease sales, and other strategic land initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve ownership, contractual, and administrative issues before they impact operations.
  • Maintain accurate data within LandVantage or other land management systems while supporting regulatory reporting requirements.


Qualifications

  • Five or more years of oil and gas land, land administration, or land analyst experience.
  • Experience supporting onshore shale or unconventional resource development; offshore Gulf of America experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas leases, title documentation, ownership reporting, lease maintenance, and land administration practices.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, divestitures, due diligence, lease sales, or other land-related transactions.
  • Experience with LandVantage or a comparable land management system is preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Energy Management, Petroleum Land Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and proactively identify ownership or contractual issues.
