Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Data Center Facilities Technician for a large, established client. In this role, you will oversee the daily operational readiness, safety, and reliability of the primary data center and supporting cabinet locations. You will coordinate vendors, support customers, and serve as the primary on-call contact for emergencies, while documenting and improving infrastructure processes. Responsibilities
- Perform daily walkthroughs to verify HVAC, power, alarms, security, and environmental conditions.
- Identify issues and coordinate vendor repairs, including managing quotes and approvals.
- Monitor airflow, hot/cold aisle alignment, temperature, humidity, and UPS conditions.
- Serve as the primary emergency contact for environmental failures.
- Conduct tours for prospective customers and assist with sales support.
- Prepare and install new customer cabinets, ensuring cleaning, labeling, power checks, and network readiness.
- Run cross-connects (fiber/copper) and assist with customer installations.
- Administer all data center access, maintain logs, and audit contractors.
- Maintain physical security including lighting, cameras, and locks.
- Audit customer cabinets, cross-connects, power usage, and infrastructure.
- Maintain and improve diagrams, inventory lists, and site documentation.
- Produce maintenance recommendations for company equipment in third-party facilities.
- Evaluate remote hub boxes and core locations, develop preventative maintenance plans, and become the subject matter expert for company-owned infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Experience in data center operations, facility support, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Understanding of HVAC design, hot/cold aisle airflow, power systems, and UPS fundamentals.
- Comfort with cabling, ladders, tools, and safe physical work practices.
- Clear communication skills for coordinating with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
- Ability to respond to emergencies at any time.
- Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean MVR.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fiber/copper cross-connect installation.
- Familiarity with DC power plants or environmental monitoring systems.
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
