A local South Orange County electronics manufacturer is seeking an SMT Operator Lead to join their growing team. The Surface Mount Tech (SMT) Operator is responsible for both automated and manual surface mount manufacturing. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity with pay ranging from $18 to $30/hour, based on experience. The hours are Monday through Friday, 5AM to 1:30PM (1st shift) or 1:30PM-10pm (2nd shift) and occasional weekend shifts. Once hired, there's a competitive employee benefits package, including bonus, health plan, and matching 401K.Responsibilities:May be responsible for occasional SMT repair.Process control and operator level of preventative maintenance of the equipmentPerform loading and unloading to and from machine independentlySet up feeder to machine per set upPerform the simple machine change overIdentify the basic SMT componentsSet up SMT parts to correct feederMake sure all process tools, stencils or fixtures are in house before starting the set-up processChecking machinery to ensure they are operated in a safe mannerAlert supervisory and maintenance colleagues regarding necessary equipment repairsEnsure assembled product meets compliance standardsResponsible for set-up, operation, and adjustment of SMT equipment.Monitors and maintains equipment to meet company standards.Responsible for quality assurance and documentation.Other various tasks as needed to support customer requirements and production scheduleRequired Skills and Qualifications:Requires 1-3 years of relevant experience and demonstrates growing proficiency under moderate supervisionStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and component specifications.Basic understanding of electronic components and their identification.Proficiency in operating computers and navigating software applications. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Basic problem-solving skills and willingness to learn to troubleshoot equipment issues.
