Job SummaryWe are seeking a warm, organized, and versatile Patient Coordinator to join our dermatologyteam. This is a hybrid role perfect for someone who excels at customer service but also enjoysthe hands-on clinical side of patient care. You will be the "face" of our practice—the firstfriendly voice patients hear and the first smile they see—while also assisting our providers withrooming patients and basic clinical tasks to keep the office running smoothly.Key ResponsibilitiesFront Office (approx. 70%)Reception: Warmly greet patients, manage check-in/check-out, and verifydemographics and insurance eligibility.Scheduling: Manage a busy provider schedule, optimizing appointment slots forefficiency (e.g., distinguishing between quick mole checks vs. longer surgicalprocedures).Communication: Handle high-volume phone calls, triage patient questions, and respondto emails/patient portal messages with professionalism and empathy.Financials: Collect co-pays, deductibles, and cosmetic fees at the time of service; explainfinancial policies to patients. You must be comfortable discussing money and enforcingfinancial policies firmly but kindly.Referrals: Coordinate incoming referrals and outgoing pathology reports, ensuring nopatient falls through the cracks.Gatekeeping: Manage phone lines and messages, acting as a protective filter for thedoctor to ensure they can focus on patient care.Clinical Support / Light Back Office (approx. 30%)Rooming: Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain history, and document chiefcomplaints in the EMR.Preparation: Ensure exam rooms are stocked and sanitized between patients.Assistance: Assist the dermatologist with non-invasive tasks (e.g., scribing during exams,applying numbing cream, bandaging) as needed.Patient Education: Provide clear post-procedure care instructions to patients under provider supervision.Qualifications & Skills Experience: 1 year of medical office experience preferred. Dermatology or PlasticSurgery experience is a huge plus but not required. Education: High School Diploma required; Medical Assistant (MA) certificate is preferredbut not required if you have relevant experience.Coachability: You are easy to teach. You listen, take notes, and implement instructionsimmediately.
