Payroll, Benefits & HRIS Specialist
Location: Oak Creek, WI (Hybrid)
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000/year
Schedule: Full-Time | Primarily Onsite
About the Role
Join a growing food manufacturing organization as a Payroll, Benefits & HRIS Specialist. In this role, you will serve as the primary resource for payroll processing, benefits administration, HRIS management, and employee support activities across multiple facilities.
This position is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has strong knowledge of multi-state payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and HR systems.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Primarily onsite in Oak Creek, WI
Supports employees across:
- North Plant
- South Plant
- Three operating shifts
- Remote employee population
- Standard business hours with flexibility required
- Occasional early-morning or late-afternoon support may be needed
- Schedule flexibility provided to accommodate adjusted work hours
Key Responsibilities
- Process and administer multi-state payroll accurately and on time
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Manage employee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Serve as the first point of contact for payroll and benefits-related inquiries
- Lead and support annual and mid-year Open Enrollment activities
- Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS system
- Support HRIS upgrades, integrations, and future payroll system implementations
- Administer and support FMLA, ADA, and leave-related processes
- Develop and deliver employee training related to payroll, benefits, and HRIS systems
- Generate payroll, benefits, and HR-related reports as needed
- Support employee engagement and communication initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
- 5 years of payroll administration experience
- Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and payroll tax compliance
- Experience administering employee benefits programs
- Experience with HRIS platforms and employee data management
- Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and related employment regulations
- Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing, food manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or production environment experience
- Experience supporting multi-site operations
- Experience leading Open Enrollment programs
- Payroll implementation or payroll system conversion experience
- Experience with ADP, Paylocity, UKG, Dayforce, Workday, or similar platforms
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred
