Job Title: Electrician Industrial Mechanic-PLC
Employment Type: Direct hire/ Full Time
Pay range: $34.76 Per hour
Location: Dayton, NJ, 08810
Shift:
Overnight Shift: 8:00 pm – 8:00 am - 3 Days on – 2 Days off – 2 Days on and 3 Days off
(36 hours one week, 48 hours next. Able to work alternating weekends and work overtime when needed)
Day Shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (flexible to possible changes in day shift schedule)
Notes:
- Electrical and Mechanical Proficiency
- Proficiency with mechanical tools to diagnose problems. Tools such as multimeter or mechanical tools (hand tools, Bridgeport, or leather machine).
- PLC Programing knowledge – having general PLC troubleshooting knowledge is good.
- Hydraulics and Pneumatics experience.
- Will interview on advanced mechanical skills like hydraulics or grinders experience.
- Candidates must be able to display any advanced practical knowledge in the interview.
- Candidates must be able to display technical explanations in describing how they would fix problems.
Position Summary:
- Repairs and maintains plastic molding machinery and electro-mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulics, conveyor systems, electrical devices and production machines and equipment. Uses hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and electrical testing equipment. Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and PLC troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery.
- Replaces or repairs parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges and switches and other electrical parts and equipment.
- Observes and listens to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts and examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines, lubricates, and cleans parts, start devices to test their performance.
- Required to participate in on-call program and may be required to work additional hours as required.
- Follows all safety rules and procedures and observes the operations to insure a safe environment.
- Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus, one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training an experience.
- Full and complete understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, and PLC troubleshooting.
- Prefer Electrician's License, but not mandatory.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Machine set- up, troubleshoots equipment failures, and perform repair and prevent maintenance services ensuring that all safety procedures are being followed.
- Must have strong PLC troubleshooting capability and ability to read and program code.
- Must have good working knowledge of all aspects of electrical controls, mechanical assembly, plumbing, and heating, ventilating and air conditioning related control systems.
- Read and interpret electrical control and mechanical assembly drawings, as well as service manuals for all equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair both Electrical and Mechanical problems associated with Production and Facility equipment in a timely manner.
- Must be able to work to repair equipment back to service during emergency breakdowns.
- Competencies:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
Physical Demands:
- Be able to work 12-hour shifts, 8a-8p or 8p-8am, rotating: 36 hours one week, 48 hours the next. Ability to work overtime when needed.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. They frequently is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is medium to loud.
