Position: Electrical Maintenance Mechanic (PLC)
Location: Dayton, New Jersey
Pay Rate: $34.76 per hour
Available Shifts:
Overnight Shift (1 Opening)
Schedule: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
- 3 Days On – 2 Days Off – 2 Days On – 3 Days Off
- 36 hours one week / 48 hours the next
- Must be able to work alternating weekends and overtime as needed
- Shift Differential:
- $1.00/hour for regular overnight hours
- $0.64/hour for overtime hours
Day Shift (2 Openings)
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Schedule may be adjusted based on operational needs
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician / PLC Maintenance Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of plastic molding machinery and electro-mechanical equipment.
This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining motors, conveyors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, electrical controls, PLCs, and production equipment to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have strong PLC troubleshooting experience, a solid understanding of industrial electrical systems, and the ability to diagnose and repair both electrical and mechanical equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment and machinery
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment failures
- Repair or replace bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges, switches, motors, and other machine components
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, diagrams, and service manuals
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and electrical control systems
- Observe equipment in operation to identify causes of malfunction and equipment failure
- Dismantle machinery to inspect and replace defective components
- Inspect used parts and determine repair or replacement requirements
- Adjust, repair, and install functional and structural machine components
- Test equipment after repairs to verify proper operation
- Initiate purchase requests for replacement parts and equipment as needed
- Maintain facility and production equipment in accordance with safety standards
- Participate in the on-call maintenance program and respond to emergency breakdowns when required
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one year of industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of:
- PLC troubleshooting and programming
- Industrial electricity

- Mechanical systems
- Electrician's License preferred but not required
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong PLC troubleshooting skills with the ability to read and modify PLC code
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of electrical controls, machine assemblies, plumbing, and HVAC-related control systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and emergency equipment repairs
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
