Quality Management System (QMS) Technician
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (must be flexible and available for overtime as needed)
We are seeking a Quality Management System (QMS) Technician to join our client's growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting a manufacturing Quality Management System, including corrective actions, internal audits, document control, and compliance with industry quality standards. This role will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to maintain and improve processes while ensuring products meet customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and revise Quality Management System (QMS) procedures, policies, and work instructions to support compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D standards.
- Coordinate reviews and updates to QMS documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency across processes.
- Support document control activities, including maintaining revisions, approvals, and controlled quality documentation.
- Train process owners on QMS procedures, documentation requirements, and quality standards.
- Manage internal corrective action processes, including coordinating assignments and tracking completion.
- Assist manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams with root cause investigations and effective corrective action development.
- Verify corrective actions are effective in preventing recurrence of issues.
- Track corrective action performance and provide quality metrics and reporting to management.
- Perform internal audits and identify opportunities for quality system improvements.
- Support customer and external quality audits.
- Assist with additional quality-related projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment supporting ISO 9001:2015 and/or AS9100D quality systems.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems, document control, non-conformance reports, and corrective action processes.
- Experience performing root cause analysis using methods such as:
- 5 Why Analysis
- 8D Problem Solving
- Fishbone/Ishikawa Diagrams
- Experience participating in internal audits and customer/external audits.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage changing priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
Preferred Experience:
- Aerospace, defense, precision machining, CNC manufacturing, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience using quality management software for document control, non-conformance tracking, and corrective action management.
