Pay Range: $30-$38/hr. dependent on experience benefits
Shift: Day Shift-7am-330pm
Job Summary:
The CNC Programmer s responsible for programming, setting up workpiece, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
Job Duties:
This job includes but is not limited to the following:
- Operate CNC Machine and all assigned machine shop operations.
- Capable of complex setups, manipulate programs and machine controls.
- Interpret technical drawings and use knowledge to set up metalworking processes, work holding fixtures, process steps, equipment, and tooling selection.
- Efficiently write programs on 5-axis, 4-Axis, and 3-Axis Milling Machines, generating set-up sheets for personnel to prepare for the job.
- Regularly milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding tasks are performed.
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee.
- Performs inspection of machined products and documents results.
- Completes and maintains electronic documents for parts.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience.
- Capable of writing, editing, and optimizing CNC programs using WorkNC and/ or PowerMill software, and adjusting machine parameters for optimal performance.
- Identify opportunities to optimize machining processes, reduce cycle times, and improve overall efficiency.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with emphasis on CNC machines, lathes, and mills.
- Ability to make independent, technical, and tactical decisions with a high attentiveness to detail.
- Must be able to read and understand written directives.
- Must have strong mathematical skills and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Must be able to use measuring instruments.
- Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
- Light to moderate physical effort is required, including occasional lifting of 50 pounds, frequent lifting of 30 pounds, frequent walking, bending and twisting.
- Must be able to run multiple machines consecutively.
- Excellent work attendance.
