Job Details:
- Job Title: Inpatient Pharmacy Technician
- Location: Boston, MA 02118
- Job Type: Contract
- Contract Length: 3 Months (Possibility of Extension)
- Schedule: 40 Hours/Week | Day & Evening Rotating Shifts
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
- Every Other Weekend Required
Local's Pay Range: $23 - $28/Hour
Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
Duties:
- Support daily inpatient pharmacy operations, medication distribution, and central pharmacy workflows.
- Deliver medications throughout the hospital, including STAT medications, IV medications, and newly ordered medications.
- Assist with Pyxis automated dispensing cabinet replenishment, troubleshooting, inventory management, and medication restocking.
- Process medication deliveries, returns, transfers, inventory documentation, and stock rotation activities.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare teams while maintaining compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient Pharmacy Technician experience – Required.
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician License – Required.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT or ExCPT) – Required.
- Current BLS Certification – Required.
- Strong knowledge of medication distribution systems and hospital pharmacy operations.
- Experience with Pyxis Automated Dispensing Cabinets – Preferred.
- Experience with EPIC EMR – Preferred.
- Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv) – Preferred.
- 3–4 years of inpatient pharmacy experience – Preferred.
