Prevailance is seeking an experienced and mission-focused professional to serve as a Situation Awareness Specialists providing Watch-Standing for the Commander Navy Installations Command (CNIC). In this role, you will provide 12 hours/day (0600-1800), on-site support in monitoring, collecting, and sharing all aspects of reporting information associated with the operations of the Shore Enterprise Operations Center (SEOC). This role is often performed independently and serves as the command’s first line of critical information flow. Travel along the east coast of the U.S. in the event of a Continuity of Operations (COOP) event may be required.
The Situation Awareness Specialist provides essential support to sustain twelve-hour-per-day, seven-day-per-week (12/7) watch stander operations for the Emergency Management (EM) Department during daily activities, training, and real-world response efforts. In addition to watch standing duties, the contractor will assist the Deputy Program Director and department staff by preparing briefs, executive summaries, and point papers for a variety of stakeholders, coordinating official tasking through approved IT systems, and providing general administrative support to the Emergency Management program.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Maintain real-time situational awareness (SA) and situational understanding (SU) in alignment with the Commander’s Critical Information Requirements (CCIRs), local directives, and standard operating procedures
- Assist the N37 staff with information management across staff, regional, and installation levels
- Screen, categorize, format, and distribute incoming message traffic appropriately
- Prepare and disseminate briefs in accordance with Commander’s requirements and operational needs
- Support and enhance Crisis Action Team (CAT) operations information management through the use of the C4I Suite and other SEOC information systems
- Provide timely oral and written briefings and responses to inquiries from Echelon I-IV commands, leadership, staff, and external stakeholders, for Government approval
- Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration among Navy Echelons and external partners
- Execute Continuity of Operations (COOP) plans when directed, including potential deployment to an alternate site
- Maintain and track the status of SEOC equipment and ensure operational readiness
- Ensure compliance with all security regulations, information assurance (IA) policies, and proper handling of classified materials within a Secret Secure Space
- Support Navy cybersecurity initiatives and local security procedures related to secure communications
Requirements
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of emergency management or operations center experience
- Direct knowledge of or experience with the Navy installation EM program
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, for preparing briefs and responding to inquiries
- Experience with classified material handling procedures
- Proficiency with information systems supporting emergency operations (e.g., C4I Suite or similar platforms)
- Knowledge of Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning and execution
- Ability to work independently under pressure in a dynamic, high-visibility environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting Navy Echelon I-IV commands
- Familiarity with Navy security protocols and Information Assurance (IA) requirements
Education:
- BS or MS in Emergency Management is desired; however, a degree may be substituted with adequate EM experience which is considered at least 8 years of military service with EM experience
Security Clearance:
- Possess current SECRET Security Clearance

Salary : $80,000 - $135,000
