Our client is hiring for a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager in La County
In this role, you will:
- Manage the efficient, accurate, complete, and timely preparation of client tax returns
- Perform technical review and approval of complex tax returns and related filings
- Take ownership of larger and more complex business tax returns
- Delegate work to tax preparers, seniors, and staff based on engagement needs
- Serve as a technical resource for tax staff and A&A professionals on tax-related questions
- Participate in client meetings and support tax planning efforts
- Manage client service responsibilities for assigned clients
- Communicate important tax developments that may impact clients
- Support governmental tax examinations and represent clients before taxing authorities when appropriate
- Help ensure tax returns move smoothly through the preparation and review process
- Support accurate and timely billing and collection processes
- Participate in firm growth initiatives through referral, community, and industry involvement
Leadership Responsibilities
You will also be responsible for:
- Coaching, training, and developing tax staff at multiple levels
- Supervising and directing the work of tax preparers
- Supporting the development of Supervising Seniors, Seniors, Semi-Seniors, and Staff Accountants
- Helping identify training needs across the tax department
- Participating in staff reviews and evaluations
What We’re Looking For
- 5–7 years of public accounting tax experience
- Proven progression in tax complexity, scope, and research
- Minimum 1 year of experience supervising and directing tax preparers
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Master’s degree in Taxation preferred
- Active CPA license required
- Strong technical tax review skills
- Experience with complex business returns
- Strong client service, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage deadlines, budgets, workflow, and staff development
The expected salary range for this role is:
$140,000 – $215,000 annually
Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, location, and overall fit for the role.
