Senior Accountant / Senior Tax & Accounting Associate
Location: Inland Empire, CA
Compensation: $75,000 – $95,000 , depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time | In-office / local candidates preferred
A well-established local CPA firm in the Inland Empire is seeking a Senior Accountant / Senior Tax & Accounting Associate to join its growing team. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys a true generalist role with exposure to both tax preparation and accounting / assurance work.
The firm works closely with closely held businesses, individuals, and clients in specialized industries, including agriculture. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on client exposure, variety in their work, and the ability to grow within a smaller, relationship-driven public accounting environment.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns, including 1040s, partnerships, S-Corps, and other entity returns
- Prepare reviewed financial statements and related workpapers
- Work with general ledger accounting, trial balances, adjusting entries, and year-end workpapers
- Assist with review and compilation engagements
- Support tax planning and client advisory projects as needed
- Communicate with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide support
- Work closely with firm leadership and senior team members on client engagements
- Support payroll, business property tax, and other accounting-related projects as needed
What We’re Looking For
- 3–7 years of recent public accounting experience
- Experience with both tax preparation and accounting / assurance work
- Strong experience preparing reviewed financial statements and workpapers
- Experience using CCH ProSystem Engagement strongly preferred
- Proficiency with individual and partnership tax returns required
- S-Corp and business entity tax experience preferred
- Lacerte experience preferred
- CPA license or progress toward CPA is a plus
- Agriculture, dairy, or closely held business client experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Ability to work directly with clients in a small-firm environment
