Family Law Attorney

Our well-established family law practice in Rockville, MD is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney with 5–10 years of litigation and case-handling experience to join our team. This role is ideal for a lawyer who is comfortable managing a full caseload, appearing in court, and developing strong client relationships. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with flexibility and autonomy.Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage a diverse family law caseload, including:Divorce (contested and uncontested)Custody and visitationChild support and spousal supportProperty distribution and marital asset issuesProtective orders and related family mattersDraft and review pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, discovery responses, and financial documents.Conduct legal research and develop case strategy with minimal supervision.Represent clients in hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trial.Maintain regular communication with clients and ensure exceptional client service.Collaborate with paralegals, support staff, and fellow attorneys to move cases efficiently.Participate in business development activities as desired (optional but beneficial).QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Active membership in the Maryland Bar (DC or VA admission a plus).5–10 years of family law experience, including courtroom litigation.Strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Professional, empathetic, and client-focused demeanor.Experience handling complex financial matters or high-asset cases is preferred but not required.
