About the Opportunity:
Prevail Recruiting is partnering with an early-stage energy hardware company seeking a customer-facing engineer to own the technical side of its sales process. You’ll work directly with engineering and commercial leadership to translate customer requirements into practical power solutions—from system sizing and economic analysis to proposals and technical close.
What You’ll Do
- Lead customer discovery, assess operating requirements, and recommend system configurations.
- Build sizing and economic models covering power requirements, runtime, fuel consumption, and operating costs.
- Develop technical proposals and RFP responses; lead technical discussions, demos, and site assessments.
- Build calculators, proposal templates, and technical resources while bringing customer feedback back to engineering.
What You’ll Bring
- Approximately 5 years in sales engineering, applications engineering, or technical presales supporting physical products.
- Strong power/electrical systems knowledge, ideally involving generators, energy storage, distributed energy, or related equipment.
- Hands-on system sizing/modeling experience, strong technical writing, and confidence presenting to technical and business audiences.
- An ownership mindset and comfort building tools and processes in a lean organization.
Electrical engineering depth is preferred; mechanical engineering backgrounds with equivalent power-systems expertise are welcome. Wind experience is a plus, not a requirement. Familiarity with NREL SAM, REopt, HOMER, or AI-assisted technical workflows is also helpful.

Salary : $160,000 - $200,000
