As anInside Salesperson in Building Materials, you are the customer’s
first point of contact, responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience. You will conduct front-counter sales of building materials and assist a broad range of customers and contractors by answering questions and helping toward the best solutions.
Responsibilities & Daily Tasks:
- Accurately entering orders in the Point of Sale (POS) system
- Processing sales transactions following Preston Feather policies for pricing, discounts, payment and credit memo terms
- Assisting with stock receiving, merchandising, and inventory cycle counts
- Sporadically retrieving materials from yard and loading into customer vehicles, often requiring lifting up to 50 lbs
- Guide people through sales, orders, and service
- Partner with sales team on deliveries
- Sell hardware and handle smaller projects
- Use Spruce ERP software for orders and payments
- Schedule vendor meetings

Required qualifications
- Retail or customer service experience strongly preferred
- Hardware or construction knowledge a plus
- Prior experience using a POS system, or confidence in learning new technologies
- A high school diploma or GED
- Minimum 18 years of age
