Staff Accountant/Accounts Receivable

Pay: $65,000 - $85,000

Location: La Porte, Indiana (100% On-site)

Summary:

Seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a strong background in accounts receivable and manufacturing accounting. The ideal candidate will support the finance department by managing daily accounting operations, including financial reporting, cost analysis, inventory valuation, and compliance. Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 3-5 years of accounting experience, manufacturing experience highly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Odyssey, QuickBooks)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively

Responsibilities:

• Assist with month- and year-end closing processes
• Prepare and post journal entries; reconcile general ledger accounts
• Support the creation of financial statements (balance sheets, income, cash flow)
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Analyze production costs, report variances, and identify savings opportunities
• Calculate and report COGS and assist with inventory valuation
• Maintain fixed asset records and reconcile manufacturing equipment
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and schedules
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and other departments for accurate cost tracking
• Maintain the integrity of financial data within ERP or accounting software
