Overview
A privately held investment organization with operations across multiple states is seeking a Head of Finance to oversee portfolio-level accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance. The group acquires and manages small to mid-sized industrial and manufacturing businesses and is looking for a hands-on finance leader to partner closely with senior leadership while managing day-to-day financial operations across several entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead finance and accounting activities across multiple operating companies
- Oversee month-end close, reporting packages, budgeting, and forecasting
- Manage treasury, cash flow, and working capital
- Supervise a team of accountants and shared services personnel
- Support operating leaders with financial analysis and planning
- Oversee HR administration through a PEO, including payroll and benefits coordination
- Serve as internal lead for ERP oversight, optimization, and system administration
- Drive improvements in reporting accuracy, financial visibility, and operational efficiency
- Manage audit preparation and external reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Manufacturing industry experience is required
- CPA strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
