Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic individual to join our team as a Day Porter. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. Your proactive approach to custodial tasks and facilities maintenance will ensure that our spaces are always in top condition, providing a positive experience for everyone who visits or works here. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a well-organized, hygienic environment while demonstrating your skills in cleaning, safety, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and sanitation of common areas, restrooms, and workspaces.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and chemical sprayers to ensure optimal cleanliness and floor care.
• Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocol adherence.
• Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks in accordance with safe lifting practices to move supplies or equipment as needed.
• Maintain facilities by performing minor repairs, custodial tasks, and general upkeep to support ongoing operations.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing facility-related inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Follow all safety guidelines during cleaning procedures and report any hazards or maintenance issues immediately to ensure a safe environment for all.

Qualifications

• Proven custodial or janitorial experience with a strong understanding of commercial cleaning standards.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment operation including floor buffers and other custodial tools.
• Experience handling chemical agents safely while adhering to chemical handling safety procedures.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while practicing safe lifting practices.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform sanitation tasks efficiently and thoroughly.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude towards facility users and team members.
• Prior experience in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
