System Administrator II (Hybrid) Knoxville, TN

- First 6 months: onsite daily

Job Summary
We are seeking a System Administrator II to support and manage enterprise infrastructure across both on-prem and cloud environments. This role is responsible for administering server systems, maintaining performance and security, and ensuring the reliability of critical IT services.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Windows and Linux-based physical and virtual server environments
- Manage cloud infrastructure, with a focus on Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, serverless)
- Maintain and support virtualization platforms, including Hyper-V and VMware ESXi
- Oversee Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Dynamics, and licensing
- Manage Active Directory and Azure AD, including DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and certificate services
- Perform daily system monitoring, ensuring availability, performance, and integrity of infrastructure
- Review logs, validate backups, and ensure completion of scheduled jobs (including sFTP processes)
- Provide Tier II/III support for server-related issues and collaborate with desktop support teams
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and system-level issues
- Implement and maintain security best practices including patching, access controls, and data protection
- Partner with security teams to deploy updates and strengthen infrastructure security posture
- Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation
- Assist with capacity planning and forecasting for infrastructure growth
- Maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and processes
- Generate reports on system performance, usage, and capacity trends
- Collaborate with network teams to ensure seamless integration across infrastructure components
- Participate in an on-call/off-hours support rotation
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with:
- Microsoft Azure
- Windows Server environments
- Microsoft Hyper-V
- VMware ESXi
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365
- Experience managing enterprise server infrastructure in a hybrid environment
- Solid understanding of Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
- Experience with system monitoring, backup/recovery, and performance tuning
- Familiarity with security best practices and patch management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in capacity planning and infrastructure scaling
- Exposure to automation or scripting (PowerShell preferred)
- Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional IT environment
Salary : $85,000 - $90,000
