Data Scientist II (12-Month W2 Contract with potential extension)

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist for a 12-month contract to support a technology organization by delivering advanced analytics, strategic insights, and executive-level reporting. This role will partner closely with Technology Operations and other business stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions that improve decision-making and operational performance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in SQL, Tableau, data modeling, and analytics, along with the ability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will have the opportunity to work on high-visibility analytics initiatives supporting technology leadership. Projects may include technology operations dashboards, contractor spend analytics, employee engagement reporting, software licensing analytics, and network traffic insights. Responsibilities:

Strategic Modeling & Analytics

• Design and implement data models that support strategic technology initiatives.
• Analyze contractor spend, workforce trends, operational metrics, and other business data.
• Deliver actionable insights that influence business and technology decisions.

Data Visualization & Reporting

• Develop and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards for technology leadership.
• Create meaningful reporting and analytics around employee engagement and operational performance.
• Present analytical findings clearly to business leaders and stakeholders.

Data Management

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility.
• Support scalable reporting and analytics solutions.

Advanced Analytics

• Apply statistical analysis and machine learning techniques where appropriate.
• Utilize Python to perform data manipulation, modeling, automation, and predictive analytics.

Business Partnership

• Collaborate with Technology Operations and other business teams to understand reporting and analytics needs.
• Translate business requirements into actionable data solutions.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and effectively communicate recommendations.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in Data Analytics or Data Science.
• Strong SQL skills with experience querying relational databases.
• Experience building dashboards and visualizations using Tableau.
• Experience with strategic data modeling and business analytics.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience analyzing workforce data, contractor spend, operational metrics, or similar business data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, or similar libraries).
• Experience developing machine learning or predictive analytics models.
• Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
• Experience supporting Technology Operations or enterprise technology organizations.
