What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Plastics Extrusion Operator $23.00/hr + $2.50 shift premium position at Premier Protective Packaging?
PREMIER PROTECTIVE PACKAGING is located in Walker, MI, we specialize in unique custom packaging applications using Polypropylene (PP) and Polyethylene (PE), Foam, Bubble, and Non-Woven Spun Bond Polypropylene (SBPP) protective packaging materials. Our manufacturing technology utilizes state of the art, customizable sheet, bubble bag, die cut and laminating equipment that allows us to produce custom packaging.
We are looking for an experienced Plastics Extrusion Operator to join our team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Follows safe operating procedures and practices for assigned Extrusion machine
2. Maintains a clean and orderly work area
3. Performs minor adjustments to assigned Extrusion machine
4. Packages product into boxes/bags
5. Performs and records quality inspections to assure product meets quality standards
6. Accurately records production quantities, time, and raw material usage
7. Performs roll changes and loading product on pallets
8. Performs machine set-up and raw material preparation
9. Loads material on machines
10. Trains new team members
11. Fills in as Converting Operator as needed
Job Qualifications:
1. The job requires knowledge normally acquired through the completion of High School or equivalent
2. Preferred 1-5 years of plastic extrusion experience
3. Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members
4. Mental ability to periodically handle pressures related to working on projects requiring attention and detail
5. Physical ability to bend, twist and walk most of the shift as well as lift and transport equipment and materials weighing up to 70 pounds
Working Conditions:
1. Inside working conditions with exposure to hot and cold conditions
2. Work includes periodic exposure to fumes, odors, dust, noise and moving objects
3. Work includes exposure to hazards associated with electrical and mechanical equipment
Pay: From $25.50 per hour
