Inventory Control / QA Manager
The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for recording and maintaining control of all inventory items purchased and produced. Manages accurate day-to-day inventory control responsibilities by ensuring appropriate products are always stocked and that all inventory is accounted for.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Generate daily reports and track for accuracy.
- Responsible for QA in meeting USDA and FDA Guidelines
- Oversees the returned goods processes and inventory transactions
- Manage the count process, while participating in cycle counts.
- Ensuring cycle count entries are accurate and complete in a timely manner.
- Follow through on inventory count discrepancies.
- Track inventory rotation issues.
- Maintains physical inventories, cycle counts, ensuring proper stock rotation.
- General upkeep of the work area observing safety, security, and regulatory procedures.
- Assist Night Operations to wrap up of night operations.
- Assist Receiving Manager and Receivers as needed.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Complete Quality checks on products as needed and while cycle counting.
- Work collaboratively across departments to address company needs.
- Ensuring safety and security of the warehouse.
- Providing management and direction to assigned warehouse staff.
- Manages labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
- Prepares work schedules including extra workdays and shifts as needed.
- Administers the proper utilization of Company assets in support of the warehouse.
- Suggests efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with implementation of changes within the warehouse.
- Assist with monitoring sanitation and facility/racking damage to ensure a safe and clean warehouse.
- Provide training of new associates, including cross-training of existing associates to meet regulatory and company standards.
- Keeps open communication with associates by answering questions and explaining policies and procedures.
- Respond to ideas to improve associate engagement and enablement.
- Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required.
- Execute management functions of staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations.
- Performs the duties of employees supervised and other related duties as needed.
- Complies with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, USDA, etc.)
- Develops and maintains good working relationships with all departments.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualification and requirements
- 5 Years' warehouse experience required
- Managerial experience required.
- Ability to juggle many functions simultaneously.
- Experience with data entry and computer operation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Working knowledge in Power Bl
- Strong communication skills and a proven ability to work interdepartmentally.
- Ability to facilitate and manage complex projects through consensus and collaboration for process improvement and integrity.
Physical Demands and Abilities
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
- Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-75 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
- Ability to work weekends.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
- Safely operate electric pallet jacks and possibly a reach machine, and to push or pull a hand truck.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
- Specific hearing abilities required for this job include adequate hearing over a loud work environment in which several pieces of machinery are frequently running including pallet jacks, large shipping vehicles, motors, engines, etc.
- Required to enter and exit large, refrigerated areas, a small freezer, as well as work in warehouse open to outdoor temperatures during shipping and/or receiving. Must be able to tolerate working in temperatures ranging from 10 degrees up to 100 degrees; work environment is mostly cool and wet.
- Ability to multitask, reprioritize, and to make quick decisions and follow direction of supervising staff.
