Activity Assistant for Memory Care

Activity Assistant Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and engaging Activity Assistant to join our Memory Care team. You will play a vital role in creating a fulfilling and meaningful experience for our residents with Alzheimer's disease and other memory impairments. As an Activity Assistant, you will develop and implement activities that cater to the unique needs and interests of our residents, encouraging socialization, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being.

Activity Assistant Responsibilities:

• Coordinate, and implement activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being for our Memory Care residents
• Assess resident interests and abilities to develop tailored activity programs
• Lead and facilitate group activities, including arts, crafts, music, and recreation
• Encourage and support resident participation, ensuring inclusivity and engagement
• Maintain accurate records of resident activities and progress
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure holistic care and support
• Participate in resident assessments and care planning meetings
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe activity area
  
  
  

Activity Assistant Requirements:

• Prior experience in a long-term care or senior living setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to work effectively with seniors with dementia and other cognitive impairments
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
