Director of Social Services Responsibilities:
- Oversee the social services department, ensuring that all social workers and activities staff are providing high-quality care and support to residents
- Develop, implement, and evaluate social services programs that meet the unique needs of each resident
- Collaborate with other departments, including nursing, rehabilitation, and therapy, to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to care
- Recruit, train, and supervise social workers, activities staff, and volunteers to ensure a skilled and compassionate team
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, vendors, and referral sources to ensure access to resources and services for residents
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards, including HIPAA and OMB
- Provide emotional support, counseling, and crisis intervention as needed to residents and their families
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and committee meetings to drive continuous improvement and excellence in care
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a social services leadership role
- Strong understanding of social services principles, practices, and regulations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
