What are the responsibilities and job description for the Superintendent - Construction position at Premier Community HealthCare?
Superintendent — Commercial/Industrial Construction (Union) — Greater Fort Wayne, IN
Our client, a growing Design-Build construction firm in Fort Wayne, is looking for an experienced Superintendent to lead jobsite operations from the ground up. If you're a hands-on problem solver who sees what needs to happen and makes it happen — someone who can run a site independently but knows how to bring a team together — this is your next role.
What You'll Do
- Lead site coordination, layout, access, and logistics — keeping things safe, productive, clean, and organized across all trades
- Get ahead of site-level conflicts and constraints, driving quality inspections and punch list walks to timely resolution
- Own the look-ahead schedule, flag schedule risks early, and keep subcontractors ready to move
- Track labor, equipment, and material usage against budget, and flag scope or cost changes to project management
- Enforce safety site-wide through daily inspections, toolbox talks, training, and incident response/documentation
- Represent the company in client interactions, OAC meetings, and site walkthroughs — with transparency and responsiveness
- Lead through clear communication, sound judgment, accountability, and active listening
What You Bring
- 10 years of commercial/industrial construction experience
- Proven track record as lead superintendent on projects valued at $3M
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Procore experience a plus, not required
- Strong ability to read and execute from drawings, specs, addenda, submittals, and technical/product manuals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Deep knowledge of construction methods, technology, and equipment
- Excellent communication, planning, and supervisory skills
- Comfort operating within an EOS-driven organization
What's In It for You
- $38–$45/hr
- Medical coverage — 90% employee premium, 40% dependent premium
- Paid vacation and wellness time
- Traditional and Roth 401(k) — 100% match up to 4%, immediately vested
- Take-home vehicle
- Structured bonus plan
- Education reimbursement based on qualifications
- Business expense and mileage reimbursement
- Structured onboarding to set you up from day one
- Real career growth opportunity
