ABOUT THIS ROLE:
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end users regarding computer systems, hardware, software, networks, and related technologies. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, installing and configuring systems, maintaining IT equipment, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the organization's technology infrastructure. Qualified candidates must be willing and able to follow company systems, processes, and methodologies. Some after hour work support will be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide first-level and second-level technical support to employees and users
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
- Monitor and maintain network connectivity and system performance.
- Install software updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees by setting up and deactivating accounts and devices.
- Document technical issues, solutions, and procedures.
- Follow-up and communicate with users on status of open issues/inquiries
- Schedule follow-up and on-site work that is escalated or necessary to complete a user’s request
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and best practices.
- Collaborate with external vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Work with IT Vendors to set up and configure new computers for users based on documented procedures.
- Rebuild, repair, and/or upgrade user computers based on documented procedures.
- Performs special projects and other related tasks and duties as directed by management.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- At least 2 years of IT experience
- Interpersonal skills: communication skills, active listening and customer-care
- Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, Adobe Applications, networking, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Problem solving skills.
- Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately
- Team Player, strong organizational skills, ambitious
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s degree (Bachelors preferred) in a computer-related discipline (CS, Engineering, MIS, etc.) or relevant experience
- Windows PC Support
- Working knowledge of windows scripting (PowerShell, VBScript and batch files) a plus.
- Certifications (in order of most desirable): CompTIA A , N , M365 EAA, Cisco CCNA, etc.
