Role Overview
The registered nurse provides clinical leadership in an acute inpatient setting, ensuring patient/family-centered care through evidence-based nursing practices. They assess patient conditions, develop and update individualized care plans, and collaborate with the healthcare team to set realistic goals and facilitate discharge planning. Responsibilities include direct patient care, delegating tasks, monitoring care quality, and ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory standards such as TJC, CMS, and state laws. They evaluate patient responses, revise care plans as needed, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. The nurse also educates patients and families, advocates for their needs, and maintains professional licensure and competency.

Qualifications & Skills
- Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience or completion of a residency program
- Current RN license recognized by NCSBN Compact or applicable state
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to utilize technology, perform documentation accurately, and adhere to safety protocols
- Provides care within the scope of the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act
- May require working weekends, holidays, and on-call
