Clinical Resident Nurse - Med/Surg Observation

Role Overview

This position provides direct and indirect patient care within a clinical setting, collaborating with physicians, leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes. The role involves applying critical thinking, nursing processes, and compassionate care to ensure high-quality service while respecting patient autonomy and dignity. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, basic self-care support, and tailored patient education that involves family members when appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients accurately based on their medical conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and perform treatments using technical skills.
• Develop and evaluate patient education plans, including family involvement.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive care.
• Address psychosocial needs and coordinate with social services for discharge planning.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN licensure with BLS certification within 14 days of hire; additional certifications like ACLS/PALS are preferred.
• Computer literacy is required; additional specialized skills are advantageous.
