Technician

Precision Resources
Orlando, FL Full Time
POSTED ON 7/22/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 8/21/2026

We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Aerospace Test Technician to join our Engineering & Technology (E&T) Labs department. In this critical role, you will be at the heart of our R&D and production efforts—fabricating, evaluating, and validating aerospace-grade materials, prototype parts, and production assemblies. You will work directly with internal customers to solve complex technical challenges in a dynamic lab environment where priorities shift and competing needs must be balanced.

If you thrive in a meticulous, problem-solving environment and take pride in translating engineering drawings into physical reality, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute hands-on fabrication and assembly techniques including bonding, sanding, drilling, and material surface preparation for both prototype and production hardware.
  • Perform mechanical and physical materials tests in accordance with ASTM standards (e.g., hardness, tack-free time, viscosity) and document results with precision.
  • Safely mix, weigh, and handle chemicals required for composite layups, bonding, and surface treatments.
  • Verify requested tasks with the test requester, schedule work orders, and resolve scheduling conflicts in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Evaluate and develop new testing methods when standard procedures are insufficient; create standardized processes for future use.
  • Utilize a Windows-based MS Office environment for scheduling, data processing, and basic data transfer. Report test results to your supervisor/manager and communicate findings clearly to internal customers.
  • Demonstrate a proactive desire to learn new skills and apply them to the best of your ability.

Required Experience & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have a proven track record with the following (minimum 5 years of experience in each area unless otherwise noted):

  • 5 years executing materials tests to ASTM standards (e.g., hardness, tack-free time, viscosity) with strong ability to read, interpret, and execute test protocols.
  • 5 years in fabrication and assembly (bonding, sanding, drilling, surface preparation).
  • 5 years mixing, weighing, and handling chemicals safely.
  • 5 years interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • 5 years working in a Windows-based MS Office environment (Outlook, Excel, Word) for communication, scheduling, and data processing.
  • Familiarity with composites manufacturing and layup techniques.
  • Meticulous, detail-oriented approach to problem solving; sound written and verbal communication skills; genuine enthusiasm for learning and executing new techniques.
