What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at Precision Resources?
We are seeking an experienced Technical Quality Assurance Inspector III to join our team. In this critical role, you'll inspect aircraft systems, production components, and support functions to ensure all contractual and quality requirements are fulfilled. You'll serve as the on-site Aviation Safety Official, validating the integrity of installed systems, logistics operations, and technician workmanship while driving continuous improvement through data-driven analysis and process refinement.
What You'll Do
- Inspect aircraft-installed systems, operational components, and production assemblies for serviceability and proper installation
- Verify Field Service Technician workmanship against technical specifications, schematics, and contractual requirements
- Validate logistics operations and support functions to ensure end-to-end quality compliance
- Perform conformity inspections in accordance with AS9102 and applicable aerospace quality standards
- Conduct quality audits, create First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), and support DCMA and FAA Part 145 repair station requirements
- Develop, review, and enhance operational procedures, work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Capture and analyze statistical data from processes to confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations
- Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective action processes to resolve non-conformities
- Recommend new or enhanced methods, procedures, standards, and reporting mechanisms
- Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and government representatives
- Provide appropriate feedback, guidance, and training to team members and customers
- Serve as a quality liaison between production, engineering, and external stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Proficient ability to understand and interpret technical schematics and documents
- In-depth understanding of electrical wiring concepts
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Products
- Experience using calibrated inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, portable CMMs, Romer Arm, PolyWorks Inspector)
- Demonstrated attention to detail, recordkeeping, and organizational skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience drafting work instructions and SOPs
- Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 cable and wire harness standards
- Experience creating FAIRs per AS9102
- Familiarity with FAA Part 145 Repair Station and FAA PMA requirements
- Experience with DCMA audits and FAA 8210.1D compliance
- Background in root cause analysis and corrective action processes
- Working knowledge of ISO 9000 and AS 9100 standards
- Experience with Network , Security , CCNA, and/or A certifications
- Experience with FCC or FCC GROL
- Basic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and/or other measuring equipment
- Proficiency reading engineering drawings, electrical wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
