What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inspector position at Precision Resources?
We are seeking a meticulous and process-driven Quality Control Inspector to join our team. In this critical, hands-on role, you will be the last line of defense, ensuring our precision electromechanical assemblies and components meet the highest standards of workmanship and specification. You will perform both in-process and final inspections using established methods, advanced measuring tools, and technical documentation to identify structural flaws, internal defects, and assembly errors. Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections on in-process and completed products, including electronic units, subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies, and mechanical subassemblies.
- Identify and document a wide range of defects, including but not limited to structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.
- Utilize a variety of precision measuring devices such as dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, torque tools, and custom fixtures to verify conformance.
- Interpret and work directly from blueprints, engineering diagrams, customer specifications, and inspection checklists to determine acceptable quality levels.
- Exercise decision-making authority to accept conforming products, reject non-conforming units, or identify units requiring rework.
- Monitor and verify quality standards in accordance with statistical process control (SPC) or other established control procedures.
- Accurately document inspection results and non-conformance findings within our quality tracking systems.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience with mechanical inspection methods using tools such as scales, micrometers, and torque wrenches.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical diagrams, and detailed work instructions.
- Familiarity with standard PC software, specifically Microsoft Word and Office.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to follow predetermined methods and prescribed specifications without deviation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience using SAP (specifically VECAMS) for quality or production tasks.
- A working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods.
