We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineering Aide to join our production support team. In this hands-on role, you will serve as a critical link between the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) department and the production floor. You will be responsible for translating technical data into actionable assembly instructions, troubleshooting issues in real-time, and ensuring that production operators have the clear guidance and tools they need to perform their tasks efficiently and accurately. This role is ideal for a technically skilled individual who enjoys problem-solving and working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to gather, format, and manipulate technical data, including engineering designs and change notices.Produce and maintain high-quality engineering documentation, reports, manufacturing instructions, and visual aids.Create and update detailed drawings, flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics to support assembly processes.Update assembly work instructions based on the latest engineering drawings and 3D models, reviewing all content with MEs prior to floor release.Act as the primary liaison between the ME team and production, providing technical guidance and facilitating timely problem resolution to support assembly performance.Review, respond to, and adjudicate EODIs (Engineering Order Drafting Instructions) and requests for floor support.Work firsthand with the assembly team to identify, troubleshoot, and correct issues on the production line.Assist in working ME tasks related to Qnotes and EODIs, inputting data into planning, routing, and work instruction tools.Actively engage in PMT (Performance Management Team) activities to implement lean principles and drive continuous process improvement.Maintain and control shop aids used in the production process.Program and maintain assembly-related machines, with a specific focus on supporting the Wire Cut area.Provide hands-on assistance with machine set-up, troubleshoot performance issues, optimize machine performance, and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.Maintain familiarity with cable wire cutter and stripper machines.Basic QualificationsExperience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.Education: High School diploma or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional technical training sufficient to perform required calculations and support electronic/mechanical assembly.Technical Reading: Proven ability to read and understand engineering design drawings and interpret design specifications.Software Proficiency: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Problem Solving: Ability to provide technical guidance and drive timely problem resolution for production floor operators.Cable/Harness Knowledge: Familiarity with cable and/or harness production, with the ability to analyze electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams.Certifications: IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 trained and/or certified.Tool Familiarity: Experience with mechanical, power, and pneumatic tools, as well as cable wire cutter and stripper machines.Desired SkillsSystem Knowledge: Familiarity with SAP (specifically Qnotes, Routings, and Bills of Material) or a related manufacturing system.Lean Principles: Knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts and techniques, with experience generating and implementing process improvements.Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse, team-oriented environment.
