What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grinder Operator position at Precision Profiles, LLC?
Precision Profiles, LLC is seeking a motivated 2nd shift Grinder Operator to join our growing team. In this role, an individual will specialize in learning to operate CNC Surface Grinders in our Precision Machining Department. In addition to operating machines, the Grinder Operator is also responsible for product quality, packaging, and basic machine maintenance.
Grinder operators typically work a 4-day work week, 10 hours shifts, with overtime as needed. 2nd shift runs 2pm - 12am. A competitive starting wage is offered based on experience.
Job Duties:
- Accurately interpret and understand part drawings to complete proper set-up of the machine.
- Perform all manufacturing tasks necessary to achieve the desired finished parts within tolerance.
- Observe and critically analyze machine operation to detect out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as necessary.
- Perform repeated product measurements throughout the manufacturing process to ensure parts conform to drawing requirements.
- Complete inspection reports and other production reports as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Entry-Level: High School Diploma / Vo-Tech or Technical Degree in Machining
Experience: 1 Year in a Machine Shop Environment
Willing to train a dedicated team player with an eagerness to learn
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to interpret and understand part drawings and/or job requirements.
- Solid understanding of metal manufacturing, with a mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with common inspection tools, including micrometers.
- Comfortable effectively utilizing various hand and power tools.
- Strong mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, & fractions).
- Strong attention to detail, organized, and capable of following detailed instructions to achieve a high level of accuracy.
- Problem solving skills (identify problems, work solutions, involve others, etc.).
- Willingness to be a team player; working collaboratively with others to solve problems.
