Precision Profiles, LLC is seeking a motivated Machine Operator to join our team. In this role, an individual will specialize in learning to operate manual Bores and Lathes in the Hollow Machining department. The role will be versatile and can transition to learning other machines such as Trepans, Hones, and Saws. In addition to operating machines, the Machine Operator is also responsible for product quality, packaging, and basic machine maintenance.
Machine operators typically work a 4-day work week, 10 hours shifts from 5am to 3pm, with overtime as needed. The position would train on 1st shift but could move to 2nd shift if preferred. A competitive starting wage is offered based on experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accurately interpret and understand part drawings to complete proper set-up of the machine.
- Perform all machine operations necessary to achieve the finished product within tolerance.
- Observe and critically analyze machine operation to detect out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as necessary.
- Perform accurate product measurements throughout the manufacturing process to ensure parts conform to drawing requirements.
- Complete inspection reports and other production reports as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Entry-Level: High School Diploma / Vo-Tech or Technical Degree in Machining
Experience: Familiarity with a Manufacturing / Machining Environment; willing to train the right individual
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to interpret and understand part drawings and/or job requirements.
- Solid understanding of metal manufacturing, with a mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with common inspection tools, including OD and ID micrometers.
- Comfortable effectively utilizing various hand and power tools.
- Strong mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, & fractions).
- Strong attention to detail, organized, and capable of following detailed instructions to achieve a high level of accuracy.
- Problem solving skills (identify problems, work solutions, involve others, etc.).
- Willingness to be a team player; working collaboratively with others to solve problems.
