Job Description

The Bindery Machine Operator is responsible for all activities with running various bindery machines. Must be able develop specialized skills in the printing industry. A willingness to cross train and assist in other departments as needed.

Responsibilities

· Willingness to work with operators, feeders, and catchers to ensure they understand how to properly load/produce/pack product on the machine

· Set up and operate bindery, finishing, and wide format equipment according to job specifications such as stitch, glue, fold, cut, laminate, mount, and apply grommet material

· Conduct preventative maintenance and identity items to repair

· Be able to safely remove a jam from equipment without risk or injury or damage to the equipment

· Know how to safely power up/down the equipment

· Know how to identify glue required, and keep the glue tanks properly filled

· Ensures all required documentation is completed on the production line for all team members and data entered into production tracking systems.

· Responds to QC alerts and concerns with the required measures to satisfy the situation by requesting the right assistance (supervision, setup, or mechanical technician, etc.)

· Develop knowledge of multiple bindery machines and processes.

· Read orders & locate proper stock.

· Follow all safety rules, work instructions, policies, and procedures.

Skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a high level of initiative and flexibility.
• Capable of understanding technical customer requirements.
• Ability to work to meet delivery dates.
• Maintain established production standards.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of computers, touch screens.
• Willingness to learn or and train, required.
• Basic understanding of print operations and terminology is preferred.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday 6:30 a.m.- 3 p.m.
• Weekends as needed and overtime benefits
