Job Summary:
The General Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining assigned machinery to ensure efficient production and high-quality output. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate manufacturing machines according to standard operating procedures and production schedules.
- Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout the shift.
- Perform basic machine setup, adjustments, and minor maintenance as needed.
- Inspect parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Record production data such as quantities, downtime, and any quality issues.
- Follow all company safety rules, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with company standards.
- Communicate any mechanical issues, material shortages, or process concerns to the supervisor.
- Assist with training of new operators when assigned.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to support efficiency and quality goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operation role preferred.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, tape measure, and production orders.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Starting Range: $18-$22 (hourly)
