Maintenance Shift Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Shift Technician to support a fast-paced manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and have experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of production equipment, including motors, conveyors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and other manufacturing machinery.
• Conduct preventative maintenance activities, including lubrication, filter changes, alignment checks, inspections, and wear monitoring.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including:
• • 480V three-phase equipment
  • 24VDC control systems
  • Motors and motor controls
  • Contactors and relays
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Solenoids, switches, and push buttons
• Diagnose and repair pneumatic and hydraulic components, including cylinders, flow controls, valves, and accumulators.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment issues in maintenance logs or CMMS systems.
• Support equipment improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform welding and fabrication work using MIG, Stick, and oxy-acetylene equipment as needed.
• Assist with facility maintenance, including lighting and general building upkeep.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company safety standards.
• Routinely replenish production process materials and support operational needs.
• Use personal hand tools to complete assigned maintenance tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education

• High School Diploma or GED.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Basic PLC troubleshooting experience, preferably Allen-Bradley systems.
• Experience performing preventative and predictive maintenance activities.

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret:

  • Blueprints
  • Technical drawings
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid mathematical aptitude.
• Forklift operation experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in an industrial manufacturing environment for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to use hands and arms for reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and manipulating tools and equipment.
• Comfortable working around moving machinery, elevated temperatures, and moderate industrial noise levels.

Preferred Background

Candidates with experience supporting manufacturing equipment such as mixers, extruders, ovens, conveyors, packaging equipment, and automated production systems are highly encouraged to apply.
