Position Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role leads production teams, monitors quality standards, manages resources, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to maximize productivity while minimizing costs and downtime.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily production activities to meet production schedules and customer demands.
  • Monitor production performance, efficiency, and quality to ensure operational targets are achieved.
  • Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Engineering, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to optimize operations.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve workflow.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to support uninterrupted production.
  • Analyze production data and prepare reports on productivity, quality, downtime, and labor utilization.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Manage labor scheduling, overtime, and staffing requirements.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained by coordinating preventive maintenance activities.
  • Participate in budgeting, cost control, and operational planning.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5 years of manufacturing or production experience.
  • 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
