Overview
Precise Garage Doors is a fast growing service and installation company serving San Diego County and surrounding areas. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to support our internal financial operations. This role requires hands on bookkeeping, reconciliation, and reporting in a fast paced environment. You will work closely with ownership and management to maintain accurate records, support operational decisions, and help the company scale efficiently.
Duties
- Manage day to day bookkeeping using QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain general ledger accuracy
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Conduct balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations
- Track job related expenses, deposits, progress payments, and final payments
- Reconcile job level revenue against invoicing or CRM systems
- Review technician invoices and flag discrepancies
- Assist with payroll coordination and commission tracking
- Generate financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries
- Support budgeting, expense tracking, and forecasting
- Maintain organized financial records, audit trails, and documentation
- Support CPA, tax preparation, and year end reporting
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and basic GAAP principles
Skills
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Solid understanding of GAAP and double entry bookkeeping
- Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll support
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
Additional Information
- This is not an entry level position
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience required
- Experience with service, construction, or trade based companies is strongly preferred
- This is an in office position located in San Diego
