Summary
**This is not a remote position.
Job Summary: Installs, modifies, and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance and training to system users.
- Inspects personal computer equipment and makes repairs/adjustments as necessary.
- Installs or assists service personnel in the installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, PC's at user’s locations.
- Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, office suites, and business applications into
computer. - Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation.
- Monitors help desk and respond to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems.
- Instructs users in the use of equipment, software, and manuals.
- Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems.
- Coordinates activities with other information systems staff.
Provides updates, status, and completion information to directors, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication. - Replaces defective or inadequate software packages.
Refers major problems to appropriate personnel for correction.
Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university or Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six (6) months to two (2) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
