POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides technical assistance to end users, installing software, hardware and network equipment under the supervision of the IT Director.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designs, configures, installs, and maintains network hardware, software, and telecommunications services for end users such as personal computers, system software, software applications, printers, and other systems. Ensures utilization of best practices for software and hardware installation and configuration.
- Manage network servers and technology tools to provide optimization of network and virtual desktop environment.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs.
- Diagnose and resolve outages to pinpoint recurring problems and implement root cause-based solutions.
- Implement robust security measures to protect data, including access controls to limit who can access it, regular backups to recover in case of emergencies, and firewalls to block unauthorized access from the internet.
- Apply patches, packages and upgrades on a regular basis, to the latest code releases.
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, training manuals and system configuration diagrams.
- Participates in after hours on-call rotation which includes evenings, weekends and holidays.
- This position requires adherence to a set schedule and punctuality. The schedule may occasionally vary because of special projects or to accommodate system disruptions; however, dependable attendance is still essential.
- Comply with Patterson Health Center policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience with independently problem solving complex systems and application issues.
Equivalent training in VMware and/or Azure.
Advanced experience with Windows server environments and virtualized servers.
Able to organize and self-direct.
Able to discern computer screen and read/interpret instruction books, etc.
