What You’ll Do
Clinical Care
-
Provide evaluations, individual therapy, family therapy, and case consultations for children and adolescents.

Create personalized treatment plans that support emotional, behavioral, and developmental growth.

Complete accurate diagnostic assessments using DSM-5 criteria.

Partner with school staff—administrators, teachers, special education teams—to wrap services around students who need support.
Administrative Responsibilities
-
Stay engaged in team meetings, clinical supervision, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Communicate with referral sources throughout intake, treatment, and discharge.

Work with Utilization Review and treatment teams to maintain authorizations and update treatment plans.

Keep documentation timely: evaluations within 48 business hours, progress notes within 48 hours.

Manage your schedule effectively to meet patient and agency needs.
Direct Service Expectations

Maintain an average of 24–27 student encounters per week, focusing on meaningful engagement and consistent clinical support.
Quality & Professional Growth

Participate in organizational initiatives and stay informed on Prairie View’s performance improvement goals.

Engage in clinical supervision and ongoing professional education to continue expanding your skills.

Maintain all required Kansas licensure.

Utilize Relias for continued learning on mental health topics and treatment modalities.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
-
Independent clinical licensure in the State of Kansas required
(LSCSW, LMLP, Psy.D., Ph.D., LPCP, or LCMFT preferred) -
LMSW, LMFT, or LMLP applicants must be actively working toward independent licensure
Minimum Experience
-
Practicum, internship, or similar experience providing services to children/adolescents, adults, families, and groups

Experience coordinating services with State Protective agencies and private collateral agencies
Core Skills & Competencies

Strong listening, verbal communication, and written communication skills

Ability to observe and interpret patient demeanor and nonverbal cues

Flexibility in scheduling to meet patient and organizational needs

Ability to communicate effectively with referral sources and external care providers

Proficient in basic keyboarding and word-processing
Clinical Privileging Requirements

Credentials or experience sufficient for privileging in:
-
Outpatient admissions
-
Individual, family, and group therapy
-
Neuropsychological and psychological testing (as appropriate to credentials)

Collateral consultations
-
Licensure & Compliance
-
Must maintain Kansas licensure and required CEUs
-
Must pass KBI, Central Registry, and DCF background checks
