Prairie View is seeking a Parent Support Worker to provide family-centered support services to children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance (SED) and their families through the SED Waiver program. This role focuses on strengthening families, coordinating services, and providing hands-on support to help children remain safely and successfully in their homes and communities.
This position is ideal for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and committed to supporting families navigating complex behavioral health needs.
đź’™ About the Role
As a Parent Support Worker, you will provide parent support and wraparound facilitation services to families enrolled in the SED Waiver program. “Family” may include parents, guardians, foster families, relatives, or others who provide care to the child.
You’ll work closely with families, mental health providers, and community partners to ensure services are coordinated, family-driven, and responsive to each child’s unique needs.

Provide parent support services to families of children and adolescents on the SED Waiver

Facilitate wraparound planning and coordination of care

Support families in navigating behavioral health systems and community resources

Observe and assess child and family needs, including behavioral and non-verbal cues

Communicate effectively with case managers, therapists, physicians, schools, and other service providers

Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Adjust work schedules as needed to meet family and program needs

Serve as a consistent, supportive presence for families facing complex challenges

✅ What We’re Looking For
Required:
-
High school diploma plus a Bachelor’s degree or approved work/lived experience working with children
-
At least two years of experience working with children and families
-
Strong listening, communication, and documentation skills
-
Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, and families experiencing significant emotional and behavioral challenges
-
Valid Kansas driver’s license
-
Basic computer and documentation skills
-
Ability to pass required background screenings (KBI, Central Registry, and DCF)

Must be at least 21 years of age
Additional Requirements:

Ability to maintain State of Kansas Case Manager Certification and required CEUs
- Flexibility in scheduling to meet family and program needs
